Advisory Board of the International Organisation of Integrated Health Practitioners

Role and Purpose:

The advisory board serves to guide, advise, and support the organisation’s mission, objectives, and activities. It ensures that the organisation remains at the forefront of integrated health practices and research globally.

Advisory Board Members:

  • Chairperson: A renowned figure in the integrated health field who can lead the board’s activities and ensure a productive collaboration among members. – Dr Rajeev Gupta
  • Medical Professionals: Doctors and other healthcare professionals familiar with both conventional medicine and complementary practices. – Prof Romesh Gupta, Prof Antonio Monradi
  • CAM Practitioners: Experts in specific CAM therapies such as ayurveda, yoga, homeopathy, acupuncture, hypnotherapy, naturopathy, etc. – Prof Ish Sharma
  • Research Scholars: Accomplished scholars or individuals actively involved in research related to integrated health. – Prof Rob Campbell, Bernadette Hargware
  • Patient Advocates: Individuals who can offer perspectives on patient experiences, needs, and challenges in the realm of integrated health. – Russell Howard
  • Legal Expert: Someone familiar with legal matters and international health regulations, especially as they pertain to CAM. – Linda Spedding
  • Educational Expert: A person with insights into the educational needs and standards for training integrated health practitioners. – Hassan Mohammed
  • Cultural Liaison: Representatives from various cultural backgrounds to ensure that practices are inclusive and respectful of different traditions and beliefs. – Devika Rao, Pauline Garnett
  • Industry Liaison: Individuals linked to the pharmaceutical or natural remedy industries to bridge the gap between commercial interests and holistic health goals. – Carolyn Gamble
  • Public Relations Expert: Someone skilled in communication, ensuring the organization maintains a positive public image and effectively communicates its mission and achievements. – Paul Green

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guidance: Provide direction on the organization’s programs, initiatives, and research endeavors.
  • Review: Regularly evaluate the organisation’s progress towards its objectives.
  • Network: Use personal and professional networks to forge partnerships, secure funding, or promote the organisation’s work.
  • Advocacy: Promote integrated health practices within the larger medical and health community, policymakers, and the public.
  • Ethical Oversight: Ensure the organisation’s activities uphold the highest ethical standards, respecting both medical best practices and patient rights.
  • Resource Allocation: Advise on the best use of the organisation’s resources, including funding, personnel, and partnerships.
  • Continuing Education: Recommend and review training programmes, workshops, and other educational initiatives.

Meetings and Activities:

  • The advisory board would meet periodically to review the organisation’s activities, discuss future initiatives, and address any pressing concerns. These meetings could be held in person or virtually, especially given the international scope of the organization.
  • In essence, the advisory board would be integral to ensuring that the International Organisation of Integrated Health Practitioners remains a leader in promoting, researching, and practising integrated health on a global scale.
